COCKTAIL HOUR

CHIN UP

If ever we needed a cocktail called 'Chin Up' it is now!  This takes a bit of making, but to be honest is well worth the time and is fun to do, as well as very tasty!  It is the signature cocktail at one of the loveliest cocktail lounges in London, in the Ham Yard Hotel.

Ingredients
50ml Portobello Road Gin (or your choice of gin)
15ml Regal Rogue Red Vermouth (or your choice of red vermouth)
5ml Fernet Branca 
15ml fresh lemon juice

35ml homemade rhubarb and ginger puree

For the puree
300g fresh rhubarb (you can use frozen but make sure to defrost first)
150g caster sugar 
2cm of fresh ginger chopped up
1/4 teaspoon of whole pink peppercorn (you can leave this out if you don't have these) 

10cm peel of grapefruit skin

APEROL MIMOSA

Aperol has become really popular and probably one of the biggest drinks trends, with an Aperol Spritz about the most popular.  This Mimosa is an Italian twist on a more traditional Buck's Fizz.  The Aperol lends colour and a slightly bitter edge.

Ingredients 
20ml Aperol 
20ml Orange Juice
Champagne, Prosecco or other Sparkling Wine to Top Up

 

PEAR DROP BELLINIS

This may seem a little weird, but trust me, it gives your fizz a lovely 'pear' flavouring which is really refreshing!

Ingredients
Prosecco or Dry Cava 
1 pear drop per glass 
 

RASPBERRY MARTINI FIZZ

This is a very stylish, yet simple cocktail to make.

Ingredients
175ml Martini Rosso
75ml Gin 
2 Tsp Icing Sugar 
12 Raspberries 

1 Bottle chilled Prosecco or other Sparkling Wine
