I've been looking for a plain black kimono for a while and this one was certainly worth the wait! The fabric is heavier than the usual chiffon but still light enough for spring-summer. The sizing is generous so i went down a size and it was perfectly flowing without bring baggy. If you prefer a more fitted effect then I'd go down two sizes for sure. My only criticism was the shocking state it arrived in; yes, it's a crinkled material but this was just plain creased from literally been thrown in a plastic bag then into a mailing envelopes. At fifty-pounds I'd have expected far better from John Lewis. I'd definitely buy it again in different colours but I would look at another stockist as it took two washes to get out the screwed-up effect that whomever packed it had created!
