Black Linen Blend Broderie Maxi Dress

I needed a floor length maxi dress, not cheap material, something good, and then found this beauty. Looking at another review I read the dress was too long, I chanced it. I'm 5ft 4, the dress is indeed scraping the floor, a bit too long, but I found an easy diy solution. I can sew snap fasteners or a hook & eye onto the straps to lift it off the floor. Not shorten them permanently cause it needs that strap length to get the dress on, but once it's on and I use the fasteners (overlap that little bit of fabric), the dress lifts slightly and it is a perfect length covering my ankles. Not clingy on the hips, falls straight and it is quality. Nowhere else had this floor length, size 20 dress in a linen, so glad I bought it, I love it!

This is such a gorgeous dress! Great quality linen, and a lovely neckline. Can wear a bra underneath as the straps are positioned so perfectly. I had to have it altered as it was far too long for me (I’m 5’5”). My tailor took it up by 4 inches - he had to unpick the lower tier of the dress to cut the fabric from the top of the flounce to ensure the full depth of the broderie anglaise was kept. Was well worth the cost as the dress is now perfect. Looking forward to wearing it on holiday next week.
